Setup guide

Draw in Zoom, Teams and Google Meet

Meeting apps accept a camera, not an overlay. So you combine camera and drawing in Ecamm Live or OBS Studio, and give the meeting their virtual camera. Set it up once and it is ready for every meeting.

Set up once

  1. Add your webcam to Ecamm Live or OBS Studio as a camera source.
  2. Add Overlay Pen as a layer above it: follow the Ecamm Live or OBS Studio guide (the wireless method takes two minutes).
  3. Start the virtual camera: in OBS click Start Virtual Camera; Ecamm Live provides its virtual camera automatically.

In every meeting

  1. In Zoom, Teams or Meet, open the video settings and choose OBS Virtual Camera or Ecamm Live Virtual Camera as your camera.
  2. Draw on the iPad. Everyone in the meeting sees the ink on top of your picture.
  3. Hold one finger on the iPad to bring back the palette, and use the trash to clear the board between topics.

Tips

Turn off mirror my video in the meeting app if your writing looks reversed to you. The other participants always see it the right way round.
Share a slide deck as a source in Ecamm or OBS instead of the meeting's own screen share, and you can draw over the slides too.
